A discussion of Thomas Eggerer's methods of working as a painter with renowned critic David Josselit. One of a series of talks in the ICA's Culture Now series, a small group listened to a short presentation and then engaged in a discussion about contemporary art practice. I was particularly interested in Eggerer's methods of working, from found image, to collage, to painting and often to a second painting. I also found his interest in tension and possibility particularly relevant to my own practice.
Culture Now provided a great forum to better understand an artist, as well as to meet them and other like minded practitioners. The series runs Friday lunch times until the 30th of March 2012.
